No-Charge Recyclables
At the Lanchester Landfill, we accept the following drop-off items in small quantities from residents at no charge:
- Aluminum beverage cans, pie plates, and clean aluminum foil
- Antifreeze
- Batteries (Must be separated)
- Cell phones
- Clean towels and blankets
- Computer towers, laptops
- Corrugated cardboard
- Fluorescent tubes and CFL bulbs
- Glass bottles and jars
- Liquid cooking oil

- Mercury thermostats
- Metal caps and lids
- Metal food, beverage cans, and empty aerosol cans
- Mixed paper (Yes / No Guide for Mixed Paper)
- Mixed scrap metal
- Newspapers
- Non-Freon containing appliances

- Plastic #1-5 and #7 containers (no Styrofoam)
- Plastic bags (Agricultural #4 film and supersacks)
- Rechargeable batteries
- Styrofoam (clean block, no packing peanuts)
- Used clothing
- Used oil / filters

Note: Please make sure that all cans, plastic, and glass recyclables are free of food residue.
